Hardwood Products is a private, family-owned, sawmill located in St. Paul, Kansas. Our 40 year history began with our founding by Jim Carter in 1960. In the early years HWP was a very small operation with one tiny sawmill and a limited delivery system. HWP may have been small, but it was built upon the strongest of foundations. A foundation bolstered by the strength and integrity of the family that had built it. From that first day HWP has relied upon that foundation for it's commitment to be the very best. This commitment and level of integrity has led us to where we are today. |
Today, through the leadership of Jim Carter's son Jamie, we utilize state-of-the-art sawing facilities. Our new 12000 square foot mill was finished in July of 1998. To feed this fast-paced cutting machine, we support modern timber harvesting operations throughout a 200 mile radius, and we will go even further away to obtain high quality hardwood logs. We have 500,000 feet of covered air and shade-dried storage on site using fluted sticks. We utilize commercial trucklines for nationwide delivery outside the four-state area. Not only do we deliver cut lumber, but also specialized products like sawdust, bark, and wood chips which require unusual transport methods.
Our specialty has always been graded, green, hardwood lumber for export and domestic use. We are THE source for thick stock lumber in the midwest. We have the inventory and skilled staff to provide the highest quality hardwood lumber in virtually any needed quantity to any location in the world. We also sell uncut logs, sawdust, and wood chips.
